It's a back-to-school tradition here at Lee!
We want every kid to get off to a great start to the school year, and that means having school supplies and a backpack to carry them in. That's why we're proud to again partner with the United Way of Androscoggin County and other donors to provide 2,500 backpacks stuffed with notebooks, pencils and other school supplies to disadvantaged kids in Androscoggin and Oxford counties for the 2024-25 school year.
Each year members of the Lee team spend a morning at the United Way in Lewiston, helping to stuff backpacks and get them ready for delivery to 47 schools throughout the region. According to UWAC Executive Director Joleen Bedard, the need for school supplies grows as more families' budgets are stretched.
Thanks to all of the volunteers, including Nicole and Kate from the Lee Internet Team (pictured below), who helped get the backpacks ready in time for the start of school. Have a great school year everyone!
